Fans ❤️ Good Editing

I was fortunate to realize early in my career that someone gets to edit the books, games and magazines that I devoured as a fan. After editing more than 100 genre publications, I am no less a fan—and I’ve seen that quality editing helps turn casual consumers into die-hard enthusiasts.

I’ve edited and published roleplaying game adventures and sourcebooks that vary from short web-based pieces to 700-page books. No project is too small or too complex, including managing art and cartography orders. I’m well versed in adapting consumer-facing materials as trade marketing collateral and am happy to work on promotions as well as products.

Your website and social media feeds need attention as much as your products do. Don’t overlook these important channels—let’s partner to craft a successful online content strategy. I’m an experienced web producer who can help you “feed the beast” that keeps your online fans buzzing in between product releases.

As an seasoned editorial director and managing editor, I’m excited to work with publishers on project management, promotional campaigns and event planning. Let my experience help push your sales beyond your goals.

My work has been recognized by Games Magazine, the Pen & Paper Fan Awards, the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards, and the Origins Awards. Personally, I’ve been named Best Editor, Fan Favorite Editor and Best Publisher multiple times in industry award competitions. Let’s win the next one together!

Services

Developmental editing: The most intensive stage of editing; may involve significant revision suggestions for clarity, pacing, and completeness. Think of this as the macro-edit, where any potential manuscript issues are identified and addressed.

Copyediting: After the developmental edit, this pass focuses on proper formatting, internal consistency, grammar, spelling, and adherence to style. This is the micro-edit, where the rough edges are smoothed out.

Proofreading: Final check of the manuscript for typos, misspellings, and similar errors. (It’s not recommended to use the same person as both copyeditor and proofreader.)

Manuscript review: High-level editorial review of nonfiction or fiction book-length manuscripts prior to submission to agents, publishers, or self-publication.

Content strategy and website management: A wide spectrum of services from channel strategy, website planning and card sorts to site migrations and content editing, formatting, and publishing.

Publishing and marketing consulting: Development of marketing and promotion plans (consumer and trade), campaign execution, and event planning.
